The storytellers in Frederick Douglas’s article â€Å"Learning to Read and Write† and Maxine Hong Kingston’s â€Å"Learning to Speak Like and American Girl† not just inform the peruser regarding their contention of connection between society’s predominant culture and their own feeling of personality, however teach the peruser and clarify the decisions the characters make which decide the bearing of their lives.      In â€Å"Learning to Read and Write† the speaker tells about his life as a youthful slave kid. The two creators have comparable clashes yet they speak to an alternate time ever.      In these expositions, the creators are recounting to a tale about the characters life. The narratives are guided towards the crowd to communicate the sort of agony and enduring the characters experienced to learn and apply what they had been longing for.
